Therapy for couples & individuals in Asheville, NC

I’m Evlyn Jackson

And I’m an individual and couples therapist based in Asheville, North Carolina.

My approach to therapy is non-pathologizing, person-centered, and relational. I work through an attachment and systems lens with an eye for patterns undermining deep connection and confidence with self and others. I hope to create an environment of ease and safety where you can feel free to kick off your shoes, get comfortable, and let your authentic self shine through.

Counseling is a second career for me. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Colorado in 2003 and my Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego in 2008 before pursuing my Master of Social Work from Western Carolina University in 2023.

What drove me from law, teaching, and social justice advocacy to counseling was a deep curiosity about human relationships, and a desire to learn effective approaches to promoting justice, healing, and repair– particularly in times of crisis. Rather than focusing on societal and system levels, my true passion is helping people one-on-one in their personal lives.

When I am not working you can find me chasing waterfalls with my golden retriever, Tanner, at home with my tabby, Lorelei, and when I am really lucky, out on a remote island scuba diving with my partner.

How We Can Work Together

Therapy for Couples

Our models, unexamined beliefs, and early attachment experiences all inform how we show up in our intimate relationships. Repair comes when we can take a curious, non-pathologizing look at our dynamic and make conscious decisions about where we go next.

As a couples therapist, I support couples of all expressions to communicate their deepest emotions and unmet needs honestly so they can move toward empathy, acceptance, and genuine connection.

Therapy for Individuals

Humans are inherently social beings, yet each of us carries stories and patterns that may undermine the deep connections and security we seek.

Drawing from humanistic, person-centered, and relational approaches to counseling, I integrate principles of attachment, emotion-focused therapy, and polyvagel theory to support you in whatever challenges you are facing.
